What happens when you don’t get to say good-bye?
Everyone at Children’s Institute was saddened to learn about the unexpected passing of David Carsel on July 16th. David worked for Children Awaiting Parents whose offices are within Children’s Institute’s space. Many of us had the opportunity to get to know David over the years through our potluck get-togethers, trips to get coffee in Village Gate, or just simple conversations at the copier or in the lunchroom.
He was genuinely friendly and his laugh carried throughout the building. Some of us connected via our experiences with ice skating, a longtime passion of David’s, while others shared his love of coffee. He was quick to offer his help and made all our Kids & Trucks raffle baskets look professionally done. There are so many other David stories but the same thread runs throughout – his willingness to lend a hand wherever he could. David’s legacy with Children Awaiting Parents meant that foster children found their forever home with loving families.
Rest in peace David.
