Dr. Dena Phillips Swanson is a professor and department chair of Human Development and Family Studies at UNC Greensboro known for her contributions in the field of child and adolescent development.  She received her PhD from Emory University and was a faculty member at the University of Rochester from 2005-2019.  As an applied developmental scientist, she conducts research to inform interventions that focus on stressful life events and cultural factors influencing developmental trajectories.
